Boys/Girls Middle School Track vs. Homer

The HH Middle School Boys track team defeated Homer, 118 to 18.

Starting the running events, the team of Jurasek, Marshall, Beach, and Hassenzahl won the 3200m Relay. Hocter and Poegel went 1st and 3rd in the 55m Hurdles, Keeler, Johnson, and Kuhl swept the 100m. The team of Federow, Lowry, Pond, and Hocter won the 800m Relay, Hassenzahl and Marshall went 1st and 3rd in the 1600m. For the 400m Relay, the team of Johnson, Dubois,Poegel and Pond took 1st. Cottrell, Herendeen and Swihart swept the 400m. Pond and Dubois took 1st and 2nd in the 70m. Harris, Hassenzahl, and Cook swept the 800m. Keeler and Dubois took 1st and 2nd in the 200m Hurdles while Lowry won the 200m dash. Harris and Beach took 1st and 2nd in the 3200m and the team of Johnson, Cook, Swihart, and Cottrell won the 1600m Relay.

For Field events, Swihart and Gorton took 1st and 2nd in Pole Vault, Harris and Herendeen took 1st and 3rd in High Jump, Lowry and Jurasek took 1st and 3rd in Long jump, and Hocter and Glover took 1st and 2nd in Shot Put.

The team did great tonight and we look forward to the Grass Lake Relays on Wednesday.

 

The Girl's Middle school track team achieved another impressive victory against Homer, scoring 96 points compared to Homer's 36 points. Notable achievements include the Girl's shot put, where Bella, Hadley, and Jaila secured 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively. Bella achieved a personal record of 30'9, while Hadley reached 25'2. Ava Smith also set a new personal record in the Pole vault, clearing a height of 6'6, and secured 1st place in the 200 m dash. Lauren Bulgrein achieved a personal record in the long jump, and Evelyn Scott set a personal record in the 70 meters. Mati Cunningham achieved a personal record in the 100 m dash with a time of 16.63. Ellie Swihart achieved a personal record in the 800 m with a time of 2:52, and Caryl Boyk achieved a personal record in the mile with a time of 6:14. Braelynn and Taylor both achieved their personal bests in the 55 m hurdles. The girls' 4x100 team, consisting of Abbi Wentworth, Lilah Laughlin, Georgia Addleman, and Braelynn Miller, achieved a personal best time of 1:00.19. Maisey Toteff competed in all open events and emerged as the triple crown winner, securing victories in the 800 m, 1600 m, and 3200 m races. Congratulations to all the girls on their outstanding performance! The next meet will take place on Wednesday, May 1st at the Grass Lake relays. Come and show your support for the Comets as the meet starts at 4:30 pm.
