The varsity football team moved to 2-4 Friday night with a non-conference win over Reading, 34-18.

Luke Soper and Graham Gumper opened up the scoring with a 17-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, before the Comets gave up back-to-back rushing touchdowns to the Rangers. The momentum shifted back to the Comets before halftime thanks to a Logan Blackledge receiving touchdown from Luke Soper, and a 16-yard touchdown rush by Da’Von Ackley. The Comets added two more rushing touchdowns in the second half to extend the lead to 34-12 before Reading scored a late rushing touchdown to finalize the game, 34-18.

Luke Soper moved into 2nd in all-time school passing touchdowns, while also intercepting two Reading passes and being named the JTV Player of the Game.

Homecoming King Da’Von Ackley finished with 2 rushing touchdowns.

Logan Blackledge added one receiving and one rushing touchdown
